Common Issue: Driver Installation Failure or Corrupted

If you see an error like "Driver install failure!" as image above, it means that the driver is missing or improperly installed, so the software cannot detect FI6000. See troubleshooting steps below:
Solution: Reinstall the USB driver:
Disconnect the USB cable (ensure it is not a charging cable)
Plug it back firmly
Reinstall the driver again
Reconnect FI6000
Check "Device Manager" → Ports (COM & LPT)
You should see something like:
USB-SERIAL CH340 (COMxx)If not shown → driver installation failed or USB port faulty.
Step 3 - Verify Driver Status in Device Manager

Ensure the CH340 USB driver is installed and visible under:
Start → Device Manager → Ports (COM & LPT)You should see:
USB-SERIAL CH340 (COMxx)If visible → your driver is working
If NOT visible → FI6000 is not recognized (see troubleshooting).

Common Issue: FI6000 Does Not Appear Under COM Ports

If FI6000 is NOT visible, try troubleshooting options below:
Unplug and reconnect FI6000
Restart FI6000
Use a different USB data cable (not a charging cable)
Try another USB port on your PC
Reinstall the driver again
Test on another computer
If still not detected → it might be hardware USB chip issue (repair needed)
Important: If FI6000 is still not showing, check whether the driver is installed correctly — an incomplete driver installation can prevent it from appearing.
Step 4 - Open FI6000 Configurator V1.3.2

Run the software
If connection is successful, this "Downloading Configuration" screen will appear.
Click Connect button
If the connection is successful, this means:
Driver is working
USB cable is working fine
FI6000 communication is established
Common Issue: FI6000 Not Connecting

When launching FI6000 configurator software, you may see this screen stuck with "no progress", or repeated "Retry / Continue" prompts.
This typically indicates a communication problem between the FI6000 unit and the PC.
If it doesn't work → Go back to Step 1 for troubleshooting.
Common Issue: Driver Pre-Installed in PC / Laptop

If you see this message, it means the CH340 USB driver is already installed in your system, but the FI6000 may not be connected during installation.

When to Consider an Upgrade
FI6000 is a legacy and discontinued model, and Windows updates may eventually stop supporting older drivers. We encourage users to upgrade to current models for improved reliability and long-term support.
Upgrade to FI6000 MK II is recommended if:
FI6000 still does NOT appear in Device Manager,
Software not detecting FI6000 at all
Likely USB communication chip failure
